Everywhere you look there's a reminder of school summer holidays past at the moment - this is North Wales in 1980, 'Ashes To Ashes' is number one and I've read my Smash Hits from cover to cover.

And not so random Mr Simon - according to The Guinness Book, this was released on August 2nd. Shpooky.

You remember that post!!

Your memory is better than my functioning - after a post-work pint or 3 of hand-pulled Tetleys!

Ah, a South African song. Originally recorded in the '50s by Elias Lerole & his Zig-Zag Flutes.

Reminds me of the over-fuckery of the composer of The Lion Sleeps Tonight. Poor guy, a South African, of course, died penniless, having been ripped off shamelessly. His family sued Disney a few years ago for a cut of Lion King moolah. I never found out how it ended. Maybe I should follow my own mantra of "Google is your friend".
